THE MASSIF
The Picos de Europa raise their majestic peaks on the North East coast of the
Iberian peninsula.
Although they are of modest altitude (max. 2648m), their irregular relief
and the rich diversity of their natural environment offer a paradise for
both walkers and naturalists.

Located on three Spanish provinces (Asturias, Cantabria and Leon), the
massif is delimited by north parallels 43°19’ and 43°04’
and west meridians 5°07’ and 4°384. It spreads over an area
of approximately 65 000 ha and obtained the status of National Park on
the 30th of May 1995.
