Project details
Key ideas
The main objectives of I.C.A.R.O. (Co-operation initiative for the employment insertion in the home care
sector) are:
 |
To improve social
and professional skills of migrants and Italian long term
unemployed people allowing them to get in the job market;

|
To give support and guidance to the final target group
in order to establish a
co-operative supplying home care services addressed to elderly
people, lone parents families and disadvantaged people.
|
The project runs in local partnership with The Italian Red Cross – Naples Committee, the
Cardarelli Hospital, the
Regional Council for Immigration, the Public Assistance Association,
Bios Sas.
The project beneficiaries were divided into two groups: the Intermediate
Target Group was composed by 20 students trained as consultants and
local development agents, and the Final Target Group was composed by 18
students all migrants or unemployed people trained as home care
operators.
In order to achieve the project objectives several articulated
activities were carried out:

Establishment of the local and
transnational network of the project;

Research on migrants and long term unemployed people
lifestyle and work situation in Italy and the Campania Region. The
research activity represented a very important step for the ICARO
project in order to analyse the beneficiaries needs relating to
their social condition and integration in the labour market in the
Campanian context and to verify whether some of them can be trained
and addressed to the home care sector;

Organization of 2 Training Courses :
-the 1st Course, addressed to the Intermediate
Target Group, trained “Consultants expert in enterprise start up and
co-operatives management in the third sector”. It lasted 120 hours and 20
people attended it;
- the 2nd Course, addressed to the Final Target
Group, trained “Operators in home care sector” it lasted 500
hours and was addressed to 18 people;

Information
window for vocational guidance and placement before and after the
training;
|
|
Legal,
financial, fiscal consultancy services to the start up business;
|
|
Establishment
of a co-operative working in the home care sector and help to its
consolidation on the market.
|
| Dissemination the projects results through: the research Publication, the
organization of local and transnational seminars, the making of a video,
a CD-Rom, a WEB page, the creation of a local/regional data base as
files containing trainees features. |
