The Pottery

Hello,

Come on in - I'm David Evans... Dave if you prefer...
Erstwhile songwriter-guitarist. While I was first exploring the guitar I was officially studying ceramics at Loughborough College of Art under Arthur Griffiths & David Leach.

Studies over, my friend Daniel Moor & I set up a pottery at Burton Bandalls Farm near Loughborough. This pottery later became Muggins© but before that, being nearly broke, I got a job as "designer" at the Honiton Pottery which I quit in Jan 1971 to become a musician.

In 1977 I came to live in Belgium & got to know ceramist Patrick Piccarelle who invited me to go & work at Simon du Chastel's studio at Jolimont in Boitsfort where we put on a few exhibitions.

Patrick moved to Portugal - I didn't get my hands into clay again until 1996 when I enrolled at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Wavre - just to profit from their facilities. At Wavre I renewed contact with Patrick...
