October 26, 2012 : Notes by Gilli: The French part the "grassroots" Gong i.e. how it was at the beginning in the 60's is almost over. Although there still remains England to be "wooed" but France has been a series of joyful encounters, old friends and new. The problem for me has keen in jumping out of the splitter bus that we were travelling in to the first dates in France. I tore a ligament in my leg which was extremely painful. An appeal to help to Luc Pilmeyer (my webmaster) resulted in a visit to hospital and a leg in plaster with a week lying flat in Luc's house in Liege. Beautiful old city and I wished I could have seen more but the tour is a major event and must be given every bit of energy that I can. I have really missed playing on stage with the band. The first gigs I did were so full of energy and inspiration that I felt deprived to miss some gigs. Now the plaster comes off on Saturday, fascinating to see what is inside and if it is healed. How will Gong do? But to be in Besançon on Sunday, we have to wake up early. I will try to join the band on stage depending on how well my leg has healed. Vive le voyage et Salut la band Gong!

Accomplished drummer/producer Orlando is of course Gilli and daevid's younger son. They have for years been keen to include him as member of Gong and see now as THE time. Fabio Golfetti, leading light of the Invisible Opera Company of Tibet (Brazil), is a very polished guitarist in smooth Gilmouresque prog mode and of course a glissando guitar practitioner of long standing. And many of you will have experienced the entertaining, expert musicianship of Ian East and Dave Sturt on respectively, wind instruments and bass, on the 2009-10 Gong tours and know that those chairs within the band are in more than capable hand

July 6, 2008 - Gilli's notes The Gong gigs in London were great, just great....the Forum club probably went off more than the Southbank because people were standing, allowed to dance or move around. At the Southbank rebellion broke through towards the end when people erupted from their seats to dance....the day was solved by organiser Glen Max who stopped the security from throwing people out.....it was a real continuation to the Uncon gigs and led to much future planning for a new album and tour next year. On return have been working with Orlando (who composed the music) on the "Brave world of the New' album...referring to Aldous Huxley but really it is contains situations that we need to think about now, as we teeter on the 'tipping point' of climate change, financial meltdown, social disorder..... Also putting together the hard copy book that a London publisher (Dave Halberry) is bringing out....a compilation of all my poetry and other books, including the Historical Politico Spirito Part I and now after the Uncon...Part II. Another project is an album about young Muslim women, and how they are the Magdalenes of today, vilified, punished, but so strong in political action and their own beliefs....This is with Max and Misbah, recently of the Alpha Omega band in Brisbane."
