You must realise that many of these people were not Witches at all – but they were accused of being such, and died because of it. This lists only a small percentage of the true number of people who died ~ it is impossible to know how many lost their lives, and the truth will probably never be known. The ‘Burning Times’ is something that must never happen again; people should have the freedom to follow any peaceful religion or set of beliefs they wish to, without the fear of persecution.
