About us
LIBERTY is a small equestrian center specializing in trail riding. Here,
you won't find an Olympic arena or a fancy restaurant, but instead miles & miles
of trails & our herd of 12 horses specially trained for trails.
Because we care for our horses & for the safety of our riders, we do not
allow beginners on our rides. We do expect that the riders have basic riding skills,
can control a horse outside at all paces, & are able to mount & dismount without
assistance.
Our passion: to ride the trails.
Our job: to organize trail rides from one day to a week.
Our priority: to show respect for horses & Nature.
Liberty is also a "gite d'étape". We welcome independent riders & their horses for
a night or for a longer stay. Here, they find a warm atmosphere, a family welcome, a
hearty dinner, a comfortable bed, a stall or a paddock for their horses, & plenty of
other services (guide, luggage transfer, etc) that make their ride easier!
How to reach us
LIBERTY is located in the heart of the Ardennes, a beautiful region of
forests, hills & legends. Even during the winter time, it remains easy to reach via the
highway
To get to LIBERTY without getting lost, make sure you bring the following directions with
you because we are discreet & hidden. You can't see us from the main road, & there is
no sign!
-If you come from Liège via the highway E25, you should allow between 30 and 45
minutes. Exit the highway at the exit #46 "Aywaille - Remouchamps". Then drive towards
Remouchamps. Pass the bridge over the Amblève River on the right. On the road N633
towards Coo, Stoumont, Trois-Ponts. 8.5 kilometers (i.e. 5.2 miles) from Remouchamps, you
will see the former taverns "Moulin du Diable" & "les Rocs". About 750 meters (i.e. half
a mile) after the taverns, i.e. about 150 meters (i.e. 50 feet) before the sign announcing
the town of "Stoumont", at the level of a bus stop (pole) & right under a street-lamp,
take on your left.
-If you come from Luxembourg via the highway E25, exit the highway at the exit # 47 &
go right towards Lorcé-Stoumont. Continue through the town of Lorcé & follow the road
downhill. Pass the bridge over the Amblève River & the tunnel under the railway. Take the
left towards Remouchamps. After about 3 to 4 kilometers (i.e. 2 miles), just after the
sign announcing the town of Remouchamps, take the small road on your right.
-LIBERTY is up the hill on the small road, to the left of a statue representing the
Virgin, between a forest & a horse paddock. LIBERTY is the first house on your left;
there are stalls in the front.
- Please, leave your car 20 meters (i.e. 2 yards) in front of the house, on
the small parking lot located on your right at the forest edge.
