British forces based on Malta attacks the Italian convoy Beta, sailing from Naples to Libya. The Italian covering force, poorly trained for night combats, did not even locate the attackers. It is the main success of the British Force K.

Losses	nil.	1 destroyer, 5 freighters, 2 oilers, 39 787 tons lost. 3 destroyers damaged. (one more destroyer will be sunk the next day by a submarine while rescuing survivors).
