By mounting the 10.5 cm howitzer on the chassis of a Lee/Grant, the allies got their most widely used self-propelled gun. The kind of pulpit near the the place of the pilot earned it the surname of "Priest".
The B1 variant quickly superseded the orginal version with an additional MG. The B2 variant was basically the same as the B1 but built by another firm.
The Priest first saw action during the Campaign in Tunisia.
